Week 1: Yogic rhythm
In the first week, you will be introduced to the basics of rhythm. We will then explore how to diagnose your rhythm, how to get in touch with it and become more aware of it. Sometimes our rhythm is too slow or too fast - we are out of sync with the rhythm of our bodies; and then there are moments where we are perfectly aligned and everything flows with ease. Before we can adjust our rhythm we first need to tune in - so let’s dive into our inner world and discover its rhythm!

Week 2: Rhythmic activation
This week I will share with you an exercise, which combines pressure points of your hand with Taal. The goal is to achieve rhythmic activation of your energetic and lymphatic system, by combining rhythm, Bol (rhythmic elements defined by a set of syllables) and your sense of touch.

Week 3: Understanding patterns and physical connections through rhythm
In the third week of our journey together, I will take the last week’s exercise one step further and share with you two new rhythmic elements (Bol). We will add those to the pattern from the previous week and thereby extend the rhythmic activation to new pressure points. Through the increased complexity of the pattern we also increase the stimulation of the nervous system.

Week 4: Rhythm in your hands
Now it is time to add the final two rhythmic elements to the pattern we have been building, thereby creating a pattern of 9 Bol. Focus and natural discipline are the foundation of Lay Yog, and the aim is to become a master of time instead of being enslaved by it. To do that, we need to build a solid foundation, step by step, and Bol by Bol.

Week 5: Composition and rhythm
You now have a total of 9 different rhythmic elements available to you, in the forthcoming steps I will show you how to compose a Taal, a circular rhythmic pattern. The Taal I will share with you has 8 beats, and I will explain how the patterns works and how it is structured. With the completion of this Core Module you will have laid the foundation for Lay Yog and its application, which we will explore further in the Clock of Life Modules.
